Baking soda!  

Because I am not a baker, can't really you tell what the real purpose of baking soda is.  However, here are a couple of cleaning uses for the baking soda in your cabinet  

Since, everyone knows that baking soda placed in the fridge kills odors.  Here are some baking soda tips you may not be aware of.  

Drains......................

For drains in the kitchen and bathrooms, pour a cup down the drain.  This will keep the drains smelling fresh.  

Fresher Pets..............

to keep Fifi (cat) or Fido (dog) smelling fresh, sprinkle baking soda all over their fur and comb in it.  Excess powder that falls off won't harm the kids or your carpet and it is a great way to keep pets fresh between baths  

Bathtubs..................

For bathubs....make a thick paste of baking soda and vinegar. This will clean scum, body oils and grease from the tub!  Love this one!   

Crayon Marks............

Crayon Marks ...................to clean crayon marks off your floor mke a thin watery paste.  Wipe the area with the paste.  Then wipe area with a warm wet cloth to remove gritty feeling.  Haven't tried this on walls so not really sure if it works there!   

Curling Iron..............

Baking soda can be used to clean build up of hairspray and gunk from the curling iron- Once again, make a thin watery paste and wipe on the barrell of the iron.  Then, wipe with wet cloth to remove the paste residue!

 I love lemons in my sweet tea!  I love them in ice water! 

Recently, in an effort to go green and do things to help the environment, I am now using lemons for another purpose.  Cleaning!

Lemon juice can be used to dissolve soap scum and hard water deposits.

Lemon juice can be mixed with vinegar and or baking soda to make cleaning pastes. Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle baking soda on the cut section. Use the lemon to scrub dishes, surfaces, and stains.  A natural fresh smelling alternative- that's what lemons are!

Furniture polish tips......Mix 1 cup olive oil with ½ cup lemon juice excellent for hardwood floors!  And it smells good, too!

My favorite use for the fruit is to slice the whole lemon and place in a bowl of water, then place the mixture in the microwave.  Turn the microwave on for 2 minutes, remove the bowl and wipe clean.  This makes the house smell fresh and removes food residue from the microwave.

Another use is to peel and run the garbage disposal. This freshens the drain and the kitchen. Orange peels can be used with the same results.

After coming home, I need a vacation from my vacation!  Did, I have a great time!  Yes, I did!

I went to Vegas who has been my friend since I was 8 years old!  After this trip, we have made plans to take a girl trip every year!  We are already planning our next trip!

I will visit her in July for a big music festival in New Orleans.  We hadn't been in touch since before Katrina- Numbers got misplaced and we lost contact!  Thank God for facebook!  That is how we were able to locate each other.....

Cher was AWESOME!  If you have the chance to see her-

Please go !!  Stand up and dance!  I know I did!

So, today...I wake up and snow is everywhere! 

The nervous Nellie in me, starts panicking about flight delays.   I have finally calmed down.  The reservationist with Continental was a gem!  Charlotte is fine for travel!  WOO- HOOO!

Before, loosing my daddy, I never really thought about a bucket list.  Just never thought about life being so short. 

Vegas was one of the things that I wanted to do, but never had!

Off to Vegas, I go!!!!!

So what's on my itinerary in Vegas, you ask?

Well, I will arrive in Vegas at 7 PM on March 3rd!  After, walking the strip, seeing the sights, then I will come back to my room and REST! Because.........

March 4th- I am going to see the Diva, herself........CHER!

Wonder if Cher will let a stager on the stage?  Just in case she doesnt ROW L in the orchestra isnt a bad place to be!!!!!  good seats! 

After March 4th...dont know what I will do!  Nothing else will really matter! 

March 5th is my birthday, and I will celebrate 42 years of living!

 So, this trip is MY present to ME!  Happy birthday to me!
