Today Show Sets the Stage!

For the rest of this week, The Today Show will feature a segment on home staging.  The segment today was staging for under $100.00.

Ms Cocoran as interviewd by Matt Lauerer, spoke of a home staging statistics that state - "Staged homes sell for 7% more."

The home had been on the market with little or no interest for over 5 months.  Ms Cocoran (stager) came in with more a less, a version of a consultation.

The homeowners performed the work themselves, Mrs Cocoran was the project manager more or less.

Mrs Cococran started with the curb appeal, she advised the homeowners to paint the door and trim the lawn and shrubery.   She advised the homeowners to remove clutter.  The teenage daughter had bumper stickers on the outside of her bedroom door, they were removed.  There was an office that had alot of items, they were removed to enhance sq footage.  The kitchen counter was cleared and decorative items were placed on the counters.  The living room had a fireplace that was hidden, of course furniture was arranged to bring the attention back to the focal point.

Stay tuned to the Today show on Wednesday, they will feature, How to Stage for Under $500.00.

Im curious as to what my fellow stagers think of this segment.

It's getting ho!  Is it time to put away my coffee cup?

Here is a quick simple recipe...

COFFEE PUNCH

2 c. water
2 c. sugar

Heat, stirring constantly, then chill in refrigerator for several hours. Place in punch bowl and add:

6 lg. cans Pet milk diluted with 6 cans water or 1 gal. homogenized milk

1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream

Stir until partially melted and add 2 quarts ginger ale. Serves 50 to 60. Freezes well.

My Mother's Day Gift

This weekend I did something that has been a dream of mine.  Tanya(my business partner) and I put on our "best" worst pair of jeans and sneakers.  Then, we went to give a gift to another mother.

It has been my dream to work on a house for "Habitat for Humanity".  Months ago, I talked with Leigh Brown Charlotte NC Broker/Owner , who gave me the name of someone to contact.  Sadly, Leigh, I didn't have to use your contact.

Tanya is acold caller and she has established a rapport with an office manager of a National Real Estate Company.  We are also on their list of "Preferred Vendors".

They actually saw our work and were impressed with us.  They asked if we would do a redesign for the homeowner.

When Tanya called to tell me, I could have hit the floor!  I was screaming like a girl who had just been asked, will you marry me!  All I could say is, WHEN DO WE START!  Well, we started TODAY!

We arrived at the site at 7:30AM!  We met the homeowner and her children.  She has a son (18) and a daughter (22).

We were there all day, painting.  I am so sore, I could die.  This is the best Mother's Day Gift, I was able to accomplish a dream and help someone else with theirs (home ownership)

I will keep you guys posted on the progress of the house.  It is scheduled for completion on July 1st.  For those of you who know I like food, Yolanda (homeowner) has invited us to a cookout, Spanish style!

Tanya is the one smiling.  I'm in the striped shirt!

Happy Mother's Day, Ladies!!

Btw- more of this will be posted on our new updated website, premiering SOON!

Staging is Successful in Upstate, SC!

Staging is Successful in Upstate, SC!

As a part of the Premier Home Staging Company of the Upstate, First Impressions.  We provide home staging services to the following counties: Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson, SC.   We work with homeowners, Realtors, investors, and builders to prepare homes for sale.

Recently, I had the pleasure of staging a home that had been on the market for over 4 months with no interest.

The homeowners had to relocate sooner than expected, so the house went on the market vacant.  This home also had some interesting architectural details that required the attention of a Fresh Eye.  After 4 months of making 2 monthly mortgages payments, doing a price reduction, and still having no offers in sight, the homeowners decided they needed home staging.  After contacting several other staging companies, the homeowners hired us because we specialize in staging vacant homes at a reasonable price.

We were requested to stage the home's impact rooms for an upcoming open house.

We completed the staging and the house looked wonderful.  The Realtor and homeowners were very pleased with the décor and how different it made the house look.

Later, the Realtor was proud to announce that the home sold at OPEN HOUSE.  She has been in the business for over 15 years and stated that she has never before had a house to sell at open house.  She attests this feat solely to the work completed by the members of our team.

Now, that is successful staging at its best. The homeowners and the Realtor are elated that the house sold, and we are glad to have another completely satisfied customer.

The bottom line is staging works.  Any home to be listed for sale, whether occupied or vacant, can benefit from home staging.

If you are listing a home for sale in the Upstate or have a home that has been on the market for a while with no interest, we would love to discuss what the First Impressions team can do for you.
